For a long time I believed the dogma that doing huge amounts of cardio was they way to go for weight loss. I have now found that to be seriously wrong. I should have been keeping track of all the articles I’ve been reading and podcasts I’ve been listening to about it but I wasn’t looking for information that would challenge my belief about cardio. The more I listened and read, ignoring those people who aren’t actually in good shape, the more I realized that all the true experts were saying the same thing. To much cardio is a waste of time. Resistance training and short high intensity interval training is the best way to go. So about 5 weeks ago I changed my routine. I had been doing 3 days resistance training and 3 days of cardio. The Cardio consisted of 1 day high intensity interval, 1 day hills, and 1 day of 50-60 minutes of steady state cardio. I changed my cardio routine to 2 days. Those 2 days were both different types of high intensity interval training for 20-30 minutes each. I started seeing the results within a week. I had been losing about 1lb-1.5lbs per week. I am now losing about 2.5-2.8lbs per week spending one less day in the gym and less time in the gym when I am there. I do have one video to for you guys about this topic. This guy is great. Check out some of his other videos. You will see interviews with some of the top personal trainers int he country.
Now the Old School Track!!

I am looking into switching to the interval training also. Is there any update? Still working better for you?
