God help me, I’m going to try and go Organic

The more research I do about the right foods to eat the more I’m finding out that the best way to go is Organic and to try and eat locally grown food. For me going organic will be an inconveience. Organic food typically goes bad much quicker than non organic. My lifestyle like many others has come to rely on going grocery shopping once maybe twice a week. It doesn’t seem like that’s possible with organic. With 2 active kids and a  full time job with an hour commute it’s not appealing to add an additional task. Organic also requries more preparation. Typically, tonighit is and example, if I’m tired or the wife is working late I can open a can of Beefaroni put it in the microwave for a few minutes and my son will be happy. I can’t do that if I make the switch to organic eating. So, the question is does the conveience of the typical grocery shopping outweigh the health and fitness benefits or organic? The answer “no” it doesn’t. I have made the decision to go oranic. I will be making the switch gradually to ease myself and my family into it.  I’m not going Vegan or anything like that. I’m still on the low carb lifestyle. I gotta have my meat. With organic I’ll be switching to grain grass fed beef, free range chickens, etc… Jimmy Moore has a great video and show notes that are going to make the process easeir. I’ll have follow up posts on how it’s going and if it’s costing me more money.

CORRECTION. Jenna commented and corrected me. I meant to say grass fed not grain fed. I am defiantly a noob at organic eating.

  1. Please tell your readers to help people with diabetes using carb restriction by signing the Metabolism Society’s petition to the NIH. Here’s the link:

  2. I presume you meant to say you will switch to “grass fed beef” as opposed to “grain fed” which is the type to avoid!!
